This week’s reading and Presentation for Points explain how to do a Division and Classification writing. This will be a five paragraph writing. Just take it one paragraph at a time.
This is your chance to show some humor, if you wish. You can easily look up “5 types of people at the” on YouTube for inspiration, if you would like, but be sure to use your own ideas and words.
Think of something to classify (for example, dogs in a dog park, students at SJVC, people at the gym, people at Starbucks, or decades of fashion). Make sure to come up with 3 classifications.
Introduction: Include the thesis – usually in the last line of this paragraph.
Paragraph 1: Classification 1 (Include a topic sentence).
Paragraph 2: Classification 2 (Include a topic sentence).
Paragraph 3: Classification 3 (Include a topic sentence.
Conclusion: Restate thesis – usually the first line of this paragraph. Wrap up the writing.
