In this weeks’ tutorials, you will then work on making
an informed choice for one of the two examples you came up with yourself and
work on Part 2 of portfolio assignment 1. In this part, you:
1.    
Explain and reflect on your example of gender
inequality or stereotype, and its’ impact on society, and;
2.    
Consider
possible concerns from differing groups / perspectives on a (potential)
intervention aimed at it. For instance, the quest
for more gender equality raises concerns among multiple groups given the
measures taken by governments, workplaces, and schools, like the experiment
shown in the documentary. For example, some parents in the documentary wonder
whether emphasizing gender neutrality might somehow harm their children.
Another example is the children themselves: some of the boys and girls wonder
why they are being asked to use the same bathroom (i.e., gender neutral toilets).
Outline potential concerns of one group striving for and one group opposing a
measure taken to increase gender equality / reducing stereotypes: What are
these concerns? How do these concerns reflect potentially differing views on
solidarity and/or social justice?
