Understanding the work of others is critically important to new work. Contributions to the nursing body of knowledge can happen when you are able to analyze and articulate the efforts of previous research. Research analysis skills are therefore critical tools for your toolbox.

Two effective strategies include using specific keywords related to nursing informatics, such as “nursing informatics,” “health informatics,” and “informatics in healthcare.” Additionally, using advanced search filters in databases to limit results to peer-reviewed articles published within a certain timeframe helps in finding recent and relevant research.

 

**Resource for Finding Peer-Reviewed Research:**

One resource I intend to use in the future is the library database at my institution, which provides access to a wide range of peer-reviewed journals and scholarly articles in the field of nursing informatics.

 

**Justification for Recommending the Article:**

I would recommend this article to inform professional practice as it provides valuable insights into using Total Quality Management to improve patient safety through the prevention of medication errors.
