This is an excavation into the depth and dimensions of the gendered socialization we receive as children. Please choose an animated film which you were fond of watching as a child, and after rewatching it (or rewatching scenes of it) please analyze the messages the film gives regarding gender, gender roles, gender and sexual expression and identity. An example of a film would be Disney’s ‘Lady and the Tramp’; ‘The Lion King’ and it’s sequels; and the end scene of ‘The Jungle Book’ where Shanti (the Indian girl) is introduced.
