I. Identify a domestic social/economic policy issue or controversy; immigration, racial
injustice, gender equality, etc.
A. Analyze the issue and explain why this is a national issue and how it impacts society
as a whole in the United States.
B. Provide a background on the issue. Explain how it relates to our constitutional
framework, Amendments to the Constitution, Bill of Rights, etc.
C. Analyze how different people are affected in our society regarding this issue and the
different form of impact it has on society.
D. What has been the role of interest groups, political parties, and other organizations on
this issue.
E. Provide and analyze your constitutional solution to the problem. What political,
social, and ethical strategy(ies) that can be used to implement your policy solution.
F. Discuss what immediate and long-term action you can take to influence government
to take action on the issue and implement your solution.
You must use at least three outside peer reviewed, scholarly sources to support your
positions and analysis of the issue.
You must use MLA format to complete your research assignment.
Make sure you cite material from your sources and include a work cited page (reference
page) at the end of your paper. Use Times New Roman, 12 pt. font.
