Papers and Assignments: All Papers and Assignments are to be written in 12pt font (Times New Roman, Calibri, or Arial), double-spaced, and have a Cover Sheet and Works Cited (if applicable) which are not part of the page count. The Cover Sheet is to include the Student’s Name, the Course Name and Course Number, the Assignment Title, Professor’s Name, and the Date submitted. In addition, all bodies of Papers are to have a footer that includes the student’s first initial and last name and the page number.
M6 Assignment: Internal Audit
During an Internal Audit at your organization, you have discovered that 7 staff members in 2 different departments have emailed or texted patient data to the wrong email address or number, thereby sending the patient data to unintended receivers. Further investigation determined that, luckily, all receivers were individuals at Covered Entities or a Business Associate of yours, therefore, no actual breach occurred. But, RISK is still there. Current policy does address email communications and allows for patient data to be sent via email. Texting communications is not currently outlined in policy (neither allowing it nor disallowing it). Create a Work Plan to address this incident/issue and explain how you would monitor it, as well as other mitigation steps you have chosen to take. Explain why you did what you did?

Internal Audit Assignment – This is not a paper. You will be using the Example Work Plan (in the Resources tab for Mod 6) to create a Work Plan to address the scenario presented in the Assignment (or you may substitute an issue that is more relevant to you based on one you have encountered through the course of your experiences at work so long as you contact me to run it by me). After you create a Work Plan, you will explain how you would monitor it, as well as other mitigation steps you have chosen to take. You may also provide a narrative for any part of the work plan, should you need to explain your rationale or in developing the scenario further. Make sure to explain why you did what you did.
