In this modern day of technology, various forms of “social media” including Facebook, Twitter,
Instagram etc. have moved to the forefront of communication and social interaction in general.
Using argumentative essay structure, compose a 4 page essay arguing for both the benefits
and pitfalls of social media based on an intellectual understanding, analysis, and overall
conception of the term. Four (4) to Five (5 )scholarly, blind, peer-reviewed, secondary
sources are required to support your analysis.
The essay should be typed in proper MLA formatting, which includes, double-spacing, Times
New Roman, and 12-size font. Moreover, proper essay structure should be presented including a
focused introductory paragraph with a direct thesis statement, well developed body paragraphs
with in-text citations, and a conclusion. A properly MLA formatted works cited page must be
presented at the end of the essay and does not count in the page count.
