Select a project paper topic from the below:
1.  Explain Indirect costs, direct costs, allocation base, pool, G&A, fringe benefits, intermediate pools, and under/over applied overhead and how it applies in government contracts.
2.  Explain the elements of cost in overhead and labor rates and how they apply to government contracts.
3.  Explain the FAR requirements for forward pricing rates, billing rates, and final overhead rates.  Explain how the apply to government contracts and why they are important.
4.  Explain the activity based costing process and explain the difference between capitalizing and expensing assets.  Explain how government agencies track and understand costs.
5.  Explain ethics as they relate to government contracts and government contractors.  Explain the general treatment of unallowable costs on billings, claims, and application of penalties.
 
Based upon the topic selected above, each student will submit an abstract and annotated bibliography using proper APA format. Students should follow the sample template attached.  The annotated bibliography and the final paper must contain a minimum of two peer-reviewed scholarly resources.
