In this next part of your group assignment, you will be completing another part of your IMC Plan with your team. Utilize your project outline To develop these portions of your plan. Go back and review your IMC objectives and strategies. Then ask, “What IMC tools will best accomplish the objectives and strategies?” These specific tools are called tactics.
As you write this section, keep in mind the following criteria:
Are there both traditional as well as new media tactics?
Do the recommendations cover all media (print, broadcast, interactive, direct, trade shows, sales promotion opportunities)? Don’t forget that much of the campaign’s success is going to be about frequency, frequency, frequency. Does your recommendation demonstrate that you will be able to place your message in multiple media?
Is there an explanation as to how or why each recommended tactic accomplishes an objective or fulfills a strategy? Remember that the client is not always IMC savvy, so it is important to explicitly state how each tactic relates to objectives and strategies.
Is the recommendation robust? One or two tactics does not a campaign make. Make sure that your recommendations are sufficiently diverse and robust to really meet the objective.
Is the recommendation sufficiently detailed? Besides explaining why, have you provided detail as to the number of times/how often you will implement this tactic? Have you explained what topics/messages are best suited for each tactic and/or if the messages are repeated, how they reinforce one another?
Given the amount of detail, are your tactics presented in a succinct writing style that features short, declarative sentences, active voice, and compelling verbs?
Is the content compelling in presentation, accurate in spelling, and correct in terms of grammar and syntax?
