EB47210 The Task

Choose one piece of material that is aimed at a level and type of class you are teaching or have taught.  

Start by giving a brief description of your teaching context
Next, tell me what the materials and target audience are.
Then, concerning the approaches to teaching literature that we have studied, evaluate the materials in terms of their effectiveness in dealing with:

• language awareness, including literary /representational language,
• cultural awareness
• The fifth skill
• reader response
• other factors (level, interest, etc.)

For each of the areas above, comment on

• What the materials offer and how useful they are.
• Missed opportunities.

The evaluation must be supported by reading (cite and provide a reference list)
Word count: 1500 words (+/1  10%)
This task comprises 40% of your final grade for this module.
