The following data (top of p. 549) are from a DNaseI footprinting experiment in which either RNA polymerase or a repressorHuman Computer Interaction protein was added to a labeled DNA fragment, and then the complex was digested with DNaseI. DNA sequencing reactions were also performed on the same DNA so the bases that were protected by proteins binding could be identified.
