You will see that the descriptions of the cities are organized around specific themes that recur with a specific pattern. 2) Choose one theme (For example: Cities and memory; or Cities and Desire;  or Cities and signs etc). Read at least 4 city-descriptions belonging to the selected thread 3) In your homework, analyze what these cities have in common, what is the common thread that makes them part of that theme, and explain how that theme is addressed in each of those cities (in terms of vocabulary, images, concepts etc.). In short, make a comparative analysis, trying to highlight differences and similarities.
