– Complete a 1 page summary for each musical example given. This will be in APA format. (without the abstract and title page. This will not count towards meeting your 1 page requirement). Each summary will be a combined total of 100 possible points (meaning they are 25 points a piece). 
– Within each summary, you will identify the composer, title of the piece, and era associated with the piece.
– Provide an analysis/summary of the musical elements associated with the piece and the composer techniques. This should relate to the musical era. Furthermore, these summaries are less subjective (impression) based and will focus on your ability to synchronize the course material. 
– Student will cite and reference one additional source outside of the textbooks used in class. The student will have a minimum of 2 cited sources/references per summary. Students are encouraged to use as many sources as they deem appropriate. However please ensure they are properly cited and referenced. One reference page citing all of the sources is appropriate, or a separate reference page for each summary is fine.
You will also follow the grading rubric as outlined below.
