Agency Analysis Paper: Students will select a youth serving agency or organization to evaluate. An initial one-page report, Part I, will be due early in the semester that provides a summary of the chosen agency and the reason you chose it. This assignment requires students to visit their chosen agency, interview staff members, obtain relevant written materials, conduct online research, and observe the agency’s programs. Based on the collected data, students will write up a case study report for this agency. There are three distinct assignments that build upon one another.

Part II (approximately 5 pages) of the case study will describe the agency origins and historical development, its mission and purpose, its goals, the target population of the community where it’slocated, and a critical assessment of the organization’s structure.

Part III, the final report will pull together Parts I, II and III. This final submission is essentially the foundation of a strategic plan and include a SWOT analysis, along with your recommendations for strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the agency. Connect principles learned in the course to your analysis and recommendations. Properly cite your analysis and recommendations to the readings and/or other course materials. The analysis and recommendations should be more than your anecdotal comments.

The final paper should be approximately 15-20 pages, double-spaced, with 12-point font and 1” margins. The final paper should include revised versions of Part I and Part II to create a thorough and complete assessment of the agency.
