Beat Radio Spot

Turn in your beat paper converted into radio spots for 30 and 60 seconds- so you will have two radio spot scripts. The Beat Radio Spot is your Beat story shortened to 30 seconds and then 60 seconds. This is not a Public Service Announcement (PSA) or an advertisement for your Beat. It is your actual Beat story for radio (just like you will do next week for the Beat TV spot- you will tell your Beat story for a television news spot).
Below will tell you all the formatting requirements you need to know. Your assignment will be to write a 30 and 60 second spots using your beat paper. You are NOT creating a commercial for your beat. You are creating a radio news story. I will grade how well your content and tone address the needs of radio, and I will be especially looking for the following format needs:
16 pt. Times New Roman font,
1.25 inch margins,
10 words per line on average,
Write the time signature at the top,
Use upper and lower case letters,
All caps for words you want the readers to emphasize,
Follow all of the style advice in the handout link above when converting print news into radio script.
No heading on your paper
In addition to writing the script, you will be required to read the 30-second spot out loud and submit it as a sound / audio file.
Please note, since you will be attaching a written file and audio file, you may save both file as zip file and attach the (1) zip file OR copy and paste your written portion in the written text field and upload your audio file as an attachment by itself.
