Today we are only one airplane ride away from another country! Global health issues are literally part of our world now, and we are finding new health issues and diseases presenting in our country. For example, the United States was recently impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, which crippled the United States along with the rest of the globe. In addition, many nurses leave their home countries to come to the United States to practice nursing for a variety of reasons. When nurses leave their home countries, often those countries then suffer from a nursing shortage and leave many needing nursing care without an adequate number of nurses to provide care.
