There continues to be debate over the causes of violent crime within the United States. In this essay, explain the causes of violent crime in the United States using one of the theories discussed in class this week (Ch. 8 – 10). Discuss the foundations of the theory and why this theoretical explanation is the most useful for understanding violent crime in the United States. Include at least two peer-reviewed articles to defend your position and selected theoretical framework. These peer-reviewed articles can be related to local, regional, or national issues and you must cite your selected articles throughout your essay. You are encouraged to directly cite your course readings in your essay to strengthen your position as well.
Essay 3 is required to be 2-3 pages. Your essay must be formatted in Times New Roman font (size 12) and double-spaced. You are required to use APA citations throughout. Your works cited page is not included in your 2-3 page count.
