Management Information System

This week you will be completing the overall overview of the components of the Management Information System that were assigned during the course. This assignment will be a compilation of all previous weekly components and a final synopsis of what you have learned from you research and completion of parts of a Management Information System. You will be required to include suggestions for improvement on any components that you completed based on the feedback that you received during the course. In other words, how can the company improve their management information systems based on your recommendations?Going back to the example of McDonald’s, in some areas of our country restaurants are being closed for a variety of reasons, but most notably they are being closed because of changing demographics of the area. The consumers in some of these areas have different needs and wants when it comes to their fast food. For McDonald’s to prevent closing more restaurants, they would likely need to analyze the changes in those demographics in a timely manner. For example, they would analyze data retrieved from purchases in those areas and changes in the market area under question. Once recommendation could be to review changes in the purchasing pattern in certain stores and locations, over a period of time. Using this data, they could make changes to items for sale, price points, etc., to accommodate the changing demographic. Would there be any necessary software improvements? Are there any network security or ethical concerns to consider? We are asking for a general set of recommendations here, it would be impossible for you to develop specific algorithms or make specific software recommendations.Guidelines:

Prepare a final synopsis that includes all the components and your rationale for how they come together to help the company/industry succeed.
Include a reflection and recommendations for the following:

Think about one of the areas of business for your company/industry – this could be online ordering, product recommendations, ease of access, hiring practices, communicating with employees, communicating with consumers, etc., and consider: What additional data would the company want to collect to improve this process?
Explain how Management Information Systems plays into future planning, control, coordination, and decision making in the company/industry you have used for this project.

Complete a 1500 word paper that includes a short explanation the three components you researched, suggestions you may have, and any newsworthy events related to the three components you may have come across.
Prepare a short presentation – for example, a 4-5 slide PowerPoint, an outline, or an interesting infographic that explains the three components you researched. Please upload your presentation separately, below.
