Please reflect on the theme of immigration, climate change, immigration and clim

Please reflect on the theme of immigration, climate change, immigration and climate change or one of the five scenes in the play, e.g., cooking together. You can then design a collage, sculpture, painting, etc., that creatively brings to life your chosen theme in the class context. There are plenty of ideas throughout When We Fight, We Win. Try to make the art as cheaply as possible and with as many recycled materials as possible, e.g., a canvas can be made from a cardboard box, milk containers can be painted and filled with water symbolic of making sure those immigrants who are crossing the desert have water to drink, etc.  As best you can, try to imagine the world you want to create and show that world in all of its vibrancy.

please photograph the artwork and attach it to a two-page reflection. The photo and reflection should be posted to Blackboard at 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, October 19th. The first part of the reflection should speak to the artwork itself, what inspired you, why you chose the theme that you did, and how the piece speaks to the theme. The second part of the paper should speak to the themes that AgitArte lays out on page 167 of the book or any of the “Artist Interviews” that close each chapter of the book. For example, Faviana Rodriguez (Chapter 4, 100) says, “Art can combat the lack of multidimensional stories and content in culture, which are a result of racism and sexism …” (100). Does your artwork counter the dominant and one-dimensional narrative of immigrants as “illegals”? If so, how and in what ways? You may use any points from any of the Artist Interviews in the book.
