In this writing project, you will draft a policy and procedure document for a hypothetical company. The document should involve some aspect of business or internal operations. Make sure you choose a topic that can be covered in a single document. You don’t want to take on a long, complex process. But the process must be involved enough to require several pages of explanation, including illustrations. Your document should be about five single-spaced pages.

A general statement or overview of the policy and procedures your document covers.
A list of defined terms.
A detailed explanation of the policy and procedures.
Provide appropriate background information. Assume the document is for unfamiliar users.
Make sure you cover each step in the process in a logical arrangement.
Write in the active voice. Identify persons who are responsible for each action.
Think about exceptions to the general rules you are drafting. List any exceptions together with the general rule.
Make sure you have identifiable deadlines.
Use examples and illustrations (examples, screenshots, etc.). Label your illustrations and reference them in the text.
