There is not a traditional assignment for this week. For this week, I would like there to be open dialog of what’s going on around us today. As we all know, from 2019 until today, life has brought us so many issues and so much change. Over the last couple of years we as a nation have been faced with a Pandemic that has caused over one million deaths, we all been affected either directly or indirectly by COVID (with working form home, losing a job, being forced to take classes on line, not being able to travel, not being able to go to the movies or the mall, etc.), if living in Texas, we have dealt with Winter Strom Uri, President Donald Trump was Impeached, there was an Insurrection or attack on the US Capital, there is war going on in Afghanistan, there have been many mass shootings and so much more. Of everything that you can think of over the last few years, what has touched you the most? What has impacted you most, scared you the most, angered you the most, made you shed a tear, made you feel loved or maybe even inspired you to be a better you? In your writing, please express your as a sociologist. This will require you to include any sociological theories and/or sociological concepts that may apply. You must also relate your experience to at least one sociological perspective (Interaction, Conflict, or Functionalist). As always, I am looking for the usage of some of the sociological terms that you have learned this semester. You are not limited to discuss one event as there may have been many things that affected you and you wish to share. Nothing is off limits. Also, please note **THIS IS A NO JUDGEMENT ZONE!
This entry will require a 500 word minimum. Please include your word count at the bottom of your entry.
