The purpose of this project is to examine the impact of nursing informatics on a selected workplace process. You will identify a process for improvement, examine evidence to support your process, create a workflow map and develop a policy for potential implementation.
Throughout the course, you have built upon the final project. Follow the timeline below for completion of the informatics project.
Timeline
Week 1: Identify a process that could be enhanced using nursing informatics. (Assignment)
Week 2: Examine and identify scholarly research that supports your process. Summarize 2 – 3 scholarly articles focused on the selected process for improvement. (Discussion Board)
Week 3: Examine and identify legal/ethical issues related to your topic. Summarize a scholarly article focused on the selected process for improvement.
Week 4: Create 2 workflow maps that identifies the present workflow problem and the logistics of how the new process (workflow map) can be implemented in the workplace. Specifically, examine how nursing informatics plays a role in the workflow. Does the workflow improve care? Does the workflow save the facility money or time?
Week 5: Critique the use of technology to support evidence-based care delivery related to your process. Develop a policy based on your research. Submit your final project via the assignment link.
